About LocalReviewDesk
LocalReviewDesk is review management software for local businesses that turns a branded QR or NFC card at the counter into Google reviews and private customer feedback, without review gating.
LocalReviewDesk was founded in 2026 and operates from Victoria, Australia. It serves single-location and small multi-location local businesses — restaurants, cafés, salons, dental and medical clinics, and auto shops — that meet their customers in person and want more Google reviews without breaking Google’s review policy or consumer law.
What LocalReviewDesk does
LocalReviewDesk gives a local business one branded review page and the physical cards that open it. A customer taps the NFC card or scans the QR code at the counter and lands on a page carrying the business’s name and logo. That page always shows two options side by side: leave a public Google review, or send private feedback straight to the business. The owner sees Google review clicks, private feedback, and scan activity in a single dashboard.
LocalReviewDesk does not write reviews, buy reviews, remove reviews, or decide which customers get asked. It handles the ask and the measurement; the customer decides everything else.
Who LocalReviewDesk is for
LocalReviewDesk is built for businesses where a staff member and a customer are in the same room at the moment of payment. That moment is the whole product: the experience is fresh, the phone is already out, and the review card is within arm’s reach. Businesses that never meet their customers face to face are a poor fit.
Asking is now the normal path to a review, not an unusual one — BrightLocal’s Local Consumer Review Survey (2026) found that 78% of consumers were asked to write a review in the last 12 months, and that 97% of consumers read reviews for local businesses.
What makes LocalReviewDesk different
LocalReviewDesk sits between a blank NFC tag and an enterprise reputation platform. It costs $49 USD per month for the first location and $20 per month for each additional location, up to 12.
| Capability | Plain NFC tag | Enterprise platform | LocalReviewDesk |

Why LocalReviewDesk refuses review gating
LocalReviewDesk never filters customers by sentiment before showing them the Google review button. Review gating — asking how someone feels first, then routing only the happy ones to Google — is prohibited by Google’s Maps user generated content policy and is treated as misleading conduct by regulators in both of LocalReviewDesk’s main markets.
“Reviewing or removing a negative review that was genuinely created may mislead consumers.”
In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission’s Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials (16 CFR Part 465) has banned suppressing reviews on the basis of their rating or sentiment since 21 October 2024. Both buttons stay visible on every LocalReviewDesk page for every customer, every time.
Why review volume matters to a local business
Reviews affect both what a local business earns and where it ranks. Michael Luca’s Harvard Business School study (Working Paper 12-016) linked a one-star rating increase to a 5–9% revenue lift for independent restaurants. Google states the ranking half plainly.
“More reviews and positive ratings can help your business’s local ranking.”
Recency matters as much as volume: BrightLocal’s 2026 survey found 74% of consumers only consider reviews written in the last three months. A review page that gets used every shift keeps that window full.
A result from an early user
퍼스한의원, a Korean-medicine clinic in Perth, Australia, went from 11 to 20 Google reviews in after placing LocalReviewDesk cards at reception and having staff ask each patient at checkout.
Two things travel with that number. It was a one-off burst that cleared a backlog of already-satisfied patients, not a weekly run-rate — no clinic adds nine reviews a week indefinitely. And it happened because staff actively asked, not because a card sat on the counter unmentioned. LocalReviewDesk supplies the page, the cards, and the tracking; the asking stays the business’s to do.
